I need to go make hummus and get changed so that I am ready to go by 5. I hope to work on my secret project when I get home. :D

Valentine Sewing Party

I'm late to the party but I hope to get SOMETHING done. The party is being held at Charming Chatter's blog.

I hope to make some of the potholders for my friends Relay for Life team fund raising efforts. I will work on the HEART themed potholders today.


I have another project in the works too but I can't post anything here. That would just spoil the surprise!!!

Blush Scruffily - done and gone

If it weren't for the last minute...

Here is my favorite little square from this quilt. Every time I saw it I would smile.


The pictures again are not great. I had to do without a helper so you can't ever see the entire quilt. I can't wait for my clothesline to be up again. I mean as long as it isn't going to snow here might as well get right to summer. (yeah, I'm rolling my eyes).






If you missed it, this is the Scruffily Quilt from the Moda Bake Shop. I made it for an auction that was held last night. A friend of mine ending up winning it!

Praise - for the fantastic turnout at the auction - standing room only! Soooo many things donated.

Prayers - continued prayers for the sheriff - for a diagnosis and a course of treatment. For peace found in God.

Finally Friday!

Really, who am I kidding? Most days here are the same so Friday doesn't really mean a whole lot. Sundays I go to Sunday school and church, Wednesdays I go to Bible study at night. The rest of the days are different depending on hubby's and my son's schedules. When they have music practice, when they have volleyball, when my son has class, when my hubby has a study or a meeting. My days pretty much all run together.
But THIS Friday is different! This Friday I am going to participate in the January Friday Night Sew-in with Handmade by Heidi .
This is what I am going to be working on;

The BLUSH Scruffily Quilt! I do have the smaller squares laid out now too but have not taken another photo. This has been sitting on the ping pong table for days and days. I pass it on the way to my work station. I pass it on the way to my computer. The problem is that I keep on passing it. Tonight I am going to SEW!!!

I guess I'd better get an hour or so of work in right now then. See ya later!

Praise - hubby's ankle is healing. It seems to be slow going but the pain is gone and now he is just dealing with the swelling.

Prayers - for Haiti.

Janaury TO DO list

I can finally post my to do list. I wasn't going to allow myself to start anything new until those labels were made and sewed to the quilts. CHECK! WHY oh WHY did I procrastinate on that? It really didn't take much time at all. I hope to get them in the mail this week. I took a picture of the coin quilt and I will post that soon.

Soooo for my Charming Girls Quilt Club projects for the month;
a pile o' scraps, some Insul-Bright and lots of bias tape;

The plan is to make an assortment of potholders for my friend PINK. Her mom is going to sell them at the small town restaurant she works at to raise money for PINK'S Relay for Life team.

With this Blush charm I am going to make a table runner for myself. No pattern. Just use as many squares as I can of this gorgeous fabric. It will be like the Sultry runner I made a couple of months ago.


With this Blush collection I am going to make another Scruffily quilt found at the Moda Bake Shop. This is going to be for an auction held in town to raise funds for a sheriff that is no longer able to work due to health issues that have yet to be diagnosed. He and his wife are members at our church as well.


I'm hoping to make a table runner with this Flirtations charm pack. No idea yet on which pattern. Maybe like those I made in December from the Charmed and Dangerous book or maybe another like the Sultry runner. This will also be for the sheriff's auction.



It looks like lots of LOVE-ly fabric this month. I can't wait to get started!

Praise - college girl got back to school without incident. The train was about 45 minutes late but not as late as they should have been (according to when they left here). They made up time along the way.

Prayers - for the young sheriff and his wife. They are so discouraged that they can't get a diagnosis and start some sort of treatment. They are trying to rest in God's arms and trust Him. I know it can't be easy.

So it is officially the 5th of January. The 5th day of 2010. You'll never guess what I'm doing. You won't. I mean, don't even bother trying because you would NEVER guess.
I'm waiting for a train.
See. I told you! The train to take college girl back to school should have been in town about an hour ago. The latest ETA puts it in town at 2:05. Everyone else went to bed to nap. I am on the train watch. I thought it would be a good time to bring you all up to date.

Pictures in no particular order (because I don't feel like moving them all around!). The pictures are not great quality. I have no idea what is going on with that. I realize now that I didn't even take pictures of so many things. I will try to remedy that.

Some of the things I received for Christmas;



College girl knitted this hat for me on one of her Knifty Knitter looms. This is the top of it (reminds me of the lattice work of a cherry pie). Isn't it cool??

Other things I received - a Kona Cotton Color Chart (mmmmmmmmmm!), some new jammies, bobbins for my machine!, handi-bobs, a clover mini iron with attachments, a supreme slider (I can't wait to try this out!), a calendar, reed diffuser. My family was good to me!
I made this for college girl - a coffee cozy. I made one for a friend too. I used a tutorial I found online. Trying to find the link to post here and I am not having any luck. I will try to add that later.

I made these ultra long jammie pants for my son. He is 6'6.5". As many times as he tried, the pants sold at the store are never long enough.

I made this using one of Moda's Aster Manor woven plaid fabrics and the tutorial found on the Cluck Cluck Sew blog. My son made one for his girlfriend using a different plaid fabric.

This is the apron/pot holder that I made for college girl to go along with the cookbook she requested.

I finally got around to making and applying the labels to the quilts I made earlier. I used the fonts on my machine. The pink print makes the words somewhat difficult to read but I wanted to use a print used in the quilt so my options were limited.


The second of the quilts is in the dryer right now. I will take a photo of the crinkled quilts before I pack them up and mail them off. Procrastination doesn't pay. Postal rates went up on the 4th and now it will cost me a bit more to mail these quilts off to the newlyweds.

We've had a great time as a family these past 3 weeks and are sorry to see college girl head back to school. My son will start his classes back up on Monday. My hubby sprained his ankle on the 19th of December and he is still not back to 100%. He spent about 6 days on the couch with his foot elevated and when he is up he wears a big, plastic, knee high boot to stabilize his foot. My 'at home' job will actually start being at home later on today! WOO HOO!!! The training period is over, the holidays are over, so the boss is ready to move the equipment here. I am really going to like having it here so I can work on my own terms, get other things around the house done, get back to exercising. You would NOT want to see the mess I have created clearing out a space for the equipment to go. Praying that it will fit there and then cleaning up the mess will take place.

I hope to get some sewing projects going this week too. I will take some pictures and post what is on my list for January.

Prayers - For safe travel for college girl and that her next quarter of school would go smoothly. For healing for hubby's ankle.
