This to me is TRUE Bliss - snow and a quilt using Moda's Bliss. Have you seen the peeks of Camille & Bonnie's new line? RUBY looks like she would play quite nicely with Bliss.

Quilt was made using Elizabeth Hartman's tutorial that was featured on Sew Mama Sew.
Linking up to Quiltstory for Fabric Tuesday and also Made By You Mondays.
I decided to sew the binding by machine. I used the same method that I used for College Girl's mug rug. Tutorial found here. I actually combine Jennifer's method with Sharon Schamber's binding method (which is my favorite). I'm thinking I will do the machine binding on baby quilts from now on. Not only is it much quicker but I think it will be more durable and hold up to multiple washings and whatever else might get thrown its way.
Praise - for SNOW! For College Girl's safe travel back to school and for College Boy's safe weekend and travels.
Prayers - for the best friend of one of my nephews. Grant is a senior in high school and is now in a coma. Doctors aren't offering up much hope right now. Pray for God's will in this situation. Of course we would love to see Grant's health restored.

I love it! I just made a quiilt from Bliss too. It's such a pretty line...
ReplyDeleteJennifer :)
I've seen several quilts pop up recently using this pattern. I love the colors of this fabric line, and you paired them so well with the white!
ReplyDeleteooh, that's pretty-pretty, and your white is whiter than snow. Those new prints look like a lighter, quieter first cousin of Bliss.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I have to admit that your white-stuff-enthusiasm is a bit catching. I have enjoyed the warm temps this week, and wasn't too happy when the cooler breeze tried to blow right through me today, but, WOW, the snow HAS been beautiful, and nicer weather DOES claim about 3/4ths of the year.
You've talked me into it...I can take ONE more snow.......but not on a day when I'm scheduled to drive somewhere !
By the way, I got my Fabric.com order........wish you were here to look. Do you ever get ugly little surprises when the fabric looks TOTALLY different from what you saw on your monitor? I'm glad they have free returns ! Just a few little half-yards that didn't work out right...the rest is GOOD !
AND, I got a Connecting Threads catalog today,a little bonus I didn't think about when I ordered from them. I just love catalogs !
Plus.....wait, I'm not through yet.........I bought real live pieces in a real live Hobby Lobby store today......a little stack of pinks that just mmake my heart sing. I wish the requestor of this girl-baby quilt that I need to make was desirous of a scrappy look.......gotta KEEP IT SIMPLE !
The snow and the quilt are just dazzling together! Nice quilting. I won't tell you how I sat in the sun in 87F weather....
ReplyDeleteBliss looks lovely in the snow!!! Can't wait to see Ruby.
