This is what I TRULY wanted. I only know about them from other quilters, from reviews I have read online and from the comments and emails I received from you. It should be here Friday. I am SOOOOOOO excited! Do I need to take a class to sew on it? Can I figure things out on my own?? I do know two gals from church that have this machine so I guess if I get bogged down I could give them a call. I have heard that the manual is very detailed. I think I will just GO FOR IT! Did I mention how excited I am??? :D
Not much going on around here to report. The Lakeside Charm quilt is all set to go to the longarm quilter. I made the binding after getting a call back from the quilter. I stitched the backing together and trimmed it down and I bought the batting. All stacked up nice and neat and ready to go. Hmmmm, I WAS going to do that on Friday. Well maybe if I take care of that Friday morning I won't wear away the carpet by the door waiting for UPS. He never comes until afternoon. OH! I just remembered, hubby is going to UPS bright and early to get a backpack he is expecting and then heading out on a two night backpacking trip. I wonder if the machine would be there at the same time!! OH. MY.
I have the pattern all traced and cut out for an Amy Butler purse for my daughter. I thought she wanted the smaller bag but it looked SO small so I had to wait for her input before I cut anything out. She wants the smaller bag. Off I go to my sewing room. Maybe I will have a picture to share soon. I have this issue...do I sew on this OLD machine or do I wait for the NEW one to arrive. I know. Kinda weird. I recognize that.
Prayers for a lady that lost her husband in a motorcycle accident yesterday. I don't know her, but she is friends of some friends. My hubby and daughter saw the aftermath of the accident on their way home yesterday. Life is so fragile and you just never know the time or the place.

Congrats on the new machine-you will love it! Happy Sewing!
ReplyDeleteWonderful, so glad you got your Bernina, the waiting on the man in brown shorts is nerve racking! But he will be there before you know it,
ReplyDeleteooohhhhh it's sooo pretty. I say GO FOR IT. I love a good manual but I'd just push the pedal to the metal and zoom away. The manual will come in handy later. Start sewing on the purse NOW. I'm sure it will transfer just lovely to the new machine. I hear purses are very resilent and can handle the change. That's what I hear....
ReplyDeleteWow! Now that's a machine! Congrats! I'd say sew the purse too. It'll keep you busy until the big brown truck gets there!
ReplyDeleteIts beautiful. Simply breathtaking. I'd recommend a DVD if they have one to learn the bells and whistles. You want to know the machine like the back of your hand. Good luck with it.

ReplyDeleteYAY! You will love, love, love it. If you ever get stuck, feel free to ping me for help. I think I learned most of the machine on my own in the first day or two. You can too!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on a super, super machine! You will love this little baby! The 440 is the machine that turned a small hobby into a major passion for me!
ReplyDeleteHave you got it yet???
