THIS is what I am talking about;
Des mentioned this show on her blog back in January. I suggested it to my hubby and son right away as something to watch when we finish with The West Wing. My son didn't want to start anything new until after we were finished with The West Wing. Okay, fine. But then we had to get the final season of TWW from Netflix and not from the library so that meant days in between discs. What oh what could we possibly do on those show-less nights?? Read a book? Study? Don't be silly! My son suggested we watch ONE of the Robin Hood episodes. Just one MOM!
We finished season 1 of Robin Hood last night.Mind you, we are not finished watching The West Wing final season as we are waiting for Netflix to send the next disc. Robin Hood is a great fill in since Season 1 and 2 are on Netflix Instant Play.
The show is fun and witty. I love Robin and the gang and Marian, hate the sheriff and Guy of Gisborn (yuck) and I think that is exactly how it is supposed to be. I'm pretty sure that the sheriff was wearing Birkenstock sandals in the episode we watched last night. The other night the guys had on shirts that had ribbing at the neck and another guy had on camo pants with belt loops and buttoned back pockets. His belt would not have been found in that time period either. Instead of ruining the show we find it kind of humorous. There is quite a bit of fighting, torture and killing as would be expected but it might not be suitable for young viewers.
We are disappointed that there are only three seasons total and that the show was cancelled after that. Maybe Des will find something else for us to watch.

ReplyDeleteCan I just tell you.....that my husband can do a spot on Guy of Gisborne imitation. He goes around saying, "Hello Marion" in that deep voice and my daughter and I just crack up. I just walked in the door from being out of town and there is a valentine's cake with "I Love U Marion" written on it. :) Our little joke.
Keep me posted as you go along with the series. It has some twists and turns.

My college aged girls watched all of the episodes and nearly went into a depression when it was finished! I've seen them too and liked it...wish it did have more seasons though.
